Now, as to this issue, Carrier decided to continue getting hundreds of millions or billions of $$ (UTX) from the govt in exchange for slightly higher product costs for one of their business units.
They could have moved the facility to Mexico and put their larger business dealings at risk. They made a business decision.
This seems pretty common to me. Is it news to you?
If the govt mandates or legislates production sources, call me. They are acting as a powerful buyer here and leveraging their buying power on behalf of constituents.
Whether carrier's higher costs will hurt more americans than this move helps is a political discussion.
I'm guessing most of America will not view it poorly.
