years from P5 conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, SEC, Pac 12) who have won fewer than 40 games over their first 3 years at that school. The four at the bottom are the ones who made the tournament. The 27 at the top are ones who did not. So the OVERWHELMING odds are that a coach as bad as Kim is going to end up as a failure. But anyone with half a brain can see that coming.

Of the coaches who made the tourney: two of them came into sever sanctions. Tom Crean inherited only a walk-on. The NCAA allowed Baylor's players to transfer without penalty after the Bliss scandal. DeChellis made the NCAA tournament after 8 years at Penn State.
