Totally missed the point...maybe you should not have been so obtuse. Couldn't your point have been made just by comparing the fact that slavery was condoned in the day, even though it is rightfully not acceptable today and your belief that abortion will be viewed in the same way?
As for abortion, are you really suggesting that Obama is to blame? Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973. Pretty sure Obama wasn't in office at that time. Also, the Roe decision was affirmed by Casey v. Planned Parenthood in 1992 because of two Reagan appointees (Kennedy and O'Connor). Why don't they bear some responsibility? As for his legacy being affected by his stance on abortion, I would be surprised.
BTW-Jefferson had lots of enemies and detractors and his road to the Presidency was an interesting path filled with publications of lies about his opponent, John Adams.
