in how people voted between 2016 and 2012. The main difference is that blacks and young people came out in smaller numbers. Close to 60 percent of whites voted Republican as they did four years. Maybe they came out more due to their dislike of Romney, but blacks and young people disliked Clinton. Those were the factors that changed the dynamic of the race, not safe spaces and LGBT issues.
