in the South by 90-95 percent rates in the early 20th century. That's because they despised Abraham Lincoln for freeing the slaves. They wouldn't touch the Republican Party because of that man alone.
It took LBJ signing the Civil Rights Bill to eventually turn the South from blue to red.
