two years old? Is that child a non-human for the rest of his or her life? If not, at what point does he or she suddenly receive the rights of human beings?

Is it dependent upon where he or she lives? Or whether the mother &/or father want him or her to live? Or how big he or she is? Or how much he or she weighs? Or what?

A soul is not a material thing that can be seen or measured as you well know, but the Church teaches that all living beings have a soul... that is what gives it life. But that is really irrelevant to the discussion at hand. We aren't talking about religious rights but human rights and whether or not the embryo is a human being is a scientific question not a religious one... and the science has unequivocally shown that the being in question, a human embryo with a human father and a human mother is in fact a human being. That is not even debatable from a scientific standpoint.
