I guess you could say Pinkel fit that bill as well and he was able to succeed, but man is KA just a boring leader of a program. For someone coming home so to say he has brought no excitement or passion. And the sell was there; returning to the University he played at at a high level, went onto play in the NBA, was an assistant under a legendary Mizzou coach. At least when you hear Odom speak you can feel his passion for the program and the University. KA is just incredibly boring. And then you see all of these other coaches who exude personality and are able to excite the fan base and bring in recruits because of it. Obviously hiring guys just because they are an exciting personality is not a recipe for success (look at Josh Pastner at Memphis), but to have none of it makes it really difficult when things go poorly. Haith had us headed toward the cliff and KA threw on the accelerator. Time to bring in a coach that can get us back on track and if we hire the right guy the turnaround can be fairly quick.
