It really just needs to recruit well, and become great to elite at player development.

Michigan State used that philosophy in its rise as a hoops program. Same is true for UCONN. They tend to get mostly top 100 level players. Those players stay in school 4 years. When a majority of their best players are juniors and seniors they make championship runs.
Villanova did the same thing.
