In theory that's great and may be what he thought he was going to do, and what he thinks he IS doing.
He got a late start on recruiting his first year (his responsibility) and ended up with Shamburger, and who else? Allen, Gill-Caesar, and retained Wright and Gant. Those are all freshmen, who we could build around. From a distance, it seemed promising.
Frank Haith seemed to have at primary interest the answer to the question: Who is playing for us this year? How do I field a competitive team THIS YEAR? From the outside looking in, it seemed he was asking that question every year, taking Jabari Brown and Earnest Ross and Jordan Clarkson, Zach Price and others as transfers.
It seemed Kim Anderson wanted to have a longer term vision, sacrificing the present (two years ago and last year) for the future. But rather than wholeheartedly commit to that it seems he got scared and hedged his bets.
As a result we've got and had a mishmash of misfits, where it doesn't seem like there's any rhyme or reason to who's on the roster.
Planning and execution are two different things. So far Kim has had at least some of the prior and very little of the latter.
