participating in a bankruptcy case and was going to depose Haith as part of it, to ask Haith certain specific NCAA-related questions under oath, and then use that against him.

Of course, that's against all legal rules to do such legal shenanigans and the attorney was disbarred. The beaker investigator was fired, and Haith skated because the deposition was not admissible without a huge legal lawsuit that the NCAA would lose.
