If it takes him 5 days in total to not fully come to the realization they aren't well suited for this job and can't succeed in this role then he has created an entire long career that is a mirage.
You could tell by his answer where he was struggling to say anything substantial about what would be required for a good basketball program without making a specific reference to things our current staff has already failed at or isn't capable of doing. If he could point to something remotely positive that he felt was within the realm of their capabilities he would have referenced it instead of dancing around the topic.
I'm still going to choose to believe he is competent at this job until he gives a reason to believe otherwise. I'm sure he is entirely baffled coming in as an outsider not only how we got ourselves into this predicament but also that we have somehow allowed it to continue. Its basically an unprecedented self inflicted wound that has completely cratered our program for no reason. To an outsider it probably raises alot of strange questions.
