And have been for quite a while. Arkansas was elite at one point as well, but those days are long, long gone. And they were already gone when Stan Heath was hired. Mizzou was never elite, although they have had periods when they were better than Nolan's last seven seasons. That has nothing to do with your claim that Heath should never have been hired because Arkansas was still "elite" at that time. They were a program in steady decline and Heath inherited a sub .500 team in turmoil. Certainly, it was sill a desirable job, and I assume you hired the best guy you could find. And in hindsight, he did a pretty decent job but you fired him after just five seasons and back-to-back NCAA appearances. This all seems contrary to your assertion regarding "realistic expectations".
