2nd, I have no idea of his interest level. Has he told you he doesn't want the job? If not, what is the basis for your claim that he doesn't want the job?
3rd, Not one post I've read has suggested he needs the job, and I have no idea why it is even being mentioned as a negative.
4th, Sometimes people sacrifice personal convenience for the good of the community and for their friends. There is no question that Jon is part of the Mizzou community, and loves the school. That is exactly why he would be a good person for the job. That he is successful would allow him to act in the best interest of the University and the Athletic Department, because he has the ability to operate independently without being able to be coerced financially, is a plus.
It's a possibility if he wants it to be a possibility, without regard to my thoughts about it.
I believe he would be a good candidate. I have no idea if he will be the best choice. I don't know enough about any of the others mentioned to know how well his credentials compare. Not being the best doesn't mean not qualified or not a candidate if he chooses to be a candidate.
