We already tried that. 1984-1996 football was the experiment

When people ask why we don't get respect those years played a big part in it. While the oft mocked Vols were out winning, we were trying to halfazz our football program. One team goes 9-4 and is considered a title contender. The other goes 12-2 and is picked 5th next year
How helpful was 1984-96 for this school? I'd rather not return to losing 7-42, 6-63, 14-51, and 0-73. How about we will only quit trying to win once Alabama and OU quit trying to win
Like it or not a good CFB program is a boon to enrollment which =$$. Nobody cares about how bad Alabama Basketball usually is, but everybody knows and understands how bad UK football is. College football is king. So why should Mizzou deflate the program when blue bloods won't?
I'm happy we are still competing and trying to win. Go tigers!
