How many times has China invaded another country or bombed another country over the last 3 decades? Regardless of their citizens living in an authoritarian, top-down society, they haven't been a threat to peace. They do pose a threat to the US's trade dominance, but I see no signs of them wanting to dominate the world militarily, the way the US has.
