From 81 until Alden retired, then the social justice riots. A AD Dept of bloated idiots and bureaucracy who fancied themselves vital, all the while, doing nothing that had many real impact in winning, until stuck their mug out to be in the pictures when a good season came along. Morons that never real played sports seriously not understanding weight training rooms, athlete convenience, Audio visual components, or organization skills within athletics. Hell, it took DRF to finally ask why the PA system sucked, when Devine was assured it'd be fixed in the early 90s.
Get a clue before you punch down..not only incompetence in the AD, but we were bound by ethics from the early 80s on. We didn't Prop 48 kids or dummyes with a 6 on the ACT like Nebraska or K State. & We didn't pay for players either. Our best talent base in StL in the 80s & 00s was pay for play with the coaches...and we NEVER PAID FOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS..B Ball was different and it showed..until thatch Madness of course. It took Gary Pinkel, who had to with Allen to get it going
And it took Drink to push it through. Hopefully Laird can get us there. Since you're in the dark, you better be thankful that we had Sterk to reel in Drink while dealing with the doofuses on the board that litter the boosters and AD to get us Ely. So I hope this registers with you, as you go on so ding like all the other idiots that ruined the product with their know all..maybe you guys can't get your own parking lot at the game, and circle jeep as to how valuable you were to the upcoming success...but lay off the preaching, and just tell people to sit down at a big moment in the game.
