They could have all the money in the world if schools spent money responsibly.

My favorite was in 2020 a SEC school still made all freshman live in dorms while the whole world shut down and all classes were online. This school claimed it was because freshman need to intrgrate into college life. In reality it was because the school was on the hook for 25 million in dorm meals. The third-party contract read that the school is billed 25 million for all meals. Anything over 25 million the school keeps. Usually, it's a gravy train.
