But if the players are students then it should be within the realm of a governing body to require them to be students. That is the part that is being totally neglected

Have you heard of a single player failing to qualify, losing academic eligibility, or being deemed to not be making sufficient progress towards a degree since NIL started? Those problems seem to have totally evaporated overnight
