They negotiated a deal that allowed a fluke run to a conference tournament title to trigger a two-year extension that will now cost them millions.

They rewarded a coach for one good week. If you're foolish enough to give an auto extension, at least make it for a regular season title. Not a lucky week in what has become the weakest power conference.
