Think about it...
Gates won 1 game in the tournament and got blown out by a 15 seed – and Mizzou gave him a $25 million contract.
Keatts took NC State to the FINAL FOUR last year – and NC State just fired his ass.
Imagine if Keatts had taken Mizzou to a Final Four – he would have a statue and a lifetime contract. But instead, he's out of a job and the 0-19 coach is making $4M+ per year through 2029.
Mizzou's embarrassingly low expectations make it the #1 basketball job in the country. Winning in football has always been an uphill battle at MU due to the massive resources it takes, but in basketball, Mizzou is an easy place to win – yet we reward and celebrate mediocrity.
As recently as a week ago, there were clowns here saying that Gates should get ANOTHER raise & extension – less than a year after going 0-19!
Poor Keatts... should've taken the Mizzou job.
