I would like to hear legit arguments against the following

1). Shrinking the federal gov't

2). Freezing spending so the current administration can evaluate where the money is actually going to

3). Ending the federal income (oppressive) tax and replacing it with the consumption (fair) tax. I would think every individual would like to have as much as their own money as possible

The uproar from the left (and some on the right) over these 3 points would make one believe the gov't spends money efficiently, they can only survive if they keep spending more money, the majority of states only exist b/c the federal gov't pays them to, and people on welfare would cease to exist if they didn't get a payment for 5 minutes (even though payments were never stopped).
