Last year’s team could never get over the hump. East was the only reliable player and he was hurt for several of the winnable SEC games. Honor and Carter were excellent role players the prior year but never made the step up to being the go to guys. If folks want to blame Gates for last year’s roster construction that is fair but it’s the players who ultimately have to make plays. It wasn’t the coaching that led to turnovers, missed shots at key times, etc.
