that have carried over from last year, which you alluded to in your 2nd paragraph:

Seemingly in most close games or ones we have control of, sometime around the 2nd or 3rd TV time out of the 2nd half, we go into "stand and watch" mode and lose all sense of urgency, and allow the opponent to get momentum and back into the game, or even take control of the game.

Like you said, this happened last year and has now happened this year against Memphis, Howard, Eastern Washington, and ku.
