I like Gates and I'd love for him to succeed - or I suppose I should say I would love Mizzou basketball to consistently achieve like it did at the end of the Mike Anderson days rather than having to rebuild every 3 years with a new coach.

That said Gates will be limited by his willingness to coach rebounding and half court offense. Defense is great enough - recruiting is good enough but the idea that he'll be able to out-talent other SEC teams is just not the case. Maybe in 2013 when Mizzou joined the SEC that would be the case, but no longer.

So, we'll see. FYI Drake is 8-0 this year.
