The one thing I like about my carrier is that the fan is multi stage, so it figured out for heat and ac the loss, and basically runs at lower fan speed more often, so temp of the house stays more constant, instead of hot cold cycles.

One of the negatives of a humidifier is that on very cold nights you will get more condensation on the windows.
