There's a country with the most resources in the world, the best natural transportation system in the world (rivers/St. Lawrence/) a ton of farmland, great climate, great east-west geography, etc.
Whoever showed up here was going to kill it.
We're so blessed by this land that we have plenty for all that are willing to work for it.
The issue is that we've created a welfare state and political system that handicaps that.
I'm not anti-immigration. I'm anti-uncontrolled immigration while also having a welfare state. We literally have, and have had, the opportunity to create the greatest nation in the world and hampering it by bringing hoards of randos in unabated while there's a queue of hard working high earners that can actually help support the population taking advantage of our amazing lands is absolutely insane to me.
An admin that hires 80,000 new IRS agents when we could have put the same number of new government employees into immigration duty clearing all the college educated and hard working normies and relatives of actual current citizens via chain migration waiting in line to come in legally, then cancelling the wall on a racism basis just reeks of people not actually trying to make the place better.
