Good point, none of the 6 freshmen have played yet. The 14 who have seen court time are all returning players or transfers.

Hopefully it’s not an injury, but it still seems strange for me that Morrissey would get redshirted when presumably she could make a major impact right now. And it’s not like she isn’t needed. You have to think she would help on a team that has struggled so far this year.

Maybe Sullivan is playing the long game. There are clearly roster realities to deal with. We have 22 on the roster now including the 6 freshmen. We have I believe 7 players using their last year of eligibility, and 4 girls committed for next year. Doing the math that would be a roster of 19 in 2025. However there is apparently a roster cap effective next year of 18. And with the current realities, you would think a team with goals of making the NCAA tourney would leave a few roster spots open to nab a few impact players through the portal to keep upgrading the overall talent level.

So it may well be that all 6 freshmen get redshirted this year, but I was really looking forward to seeing Morrissey playing right away and making an impact.
