I used to wonder about this also. Then I had a friend who once got a speeding ticket....and completely forgot to pay it.

Several years later he gets another speeding ticket and finds out he's got a warrant out of Bum****, MO for not showing up to court.

This guy is a responsible dude who has been in the Army for...decades.

He just forgot. They didn't take him in, he paid it ASAP.
