I went to catholic school and none of them admonished birth control. In fact it was encouraged. I think that's more a baptist thing or evangelical. You'd probably need to ask them. (IVF wasn't a thing then, but I can't see why it would be different)
Also weird to see someone say zygote so many times. It's cool, you can call it a baby when it's not just a zygote any longer. I believe though, the common perception is life begins at a determinable heartbeat. That seems to be the most widely accepted answer and that was 30 years ago. Both scientifically and ideologically. They are the same here.
