Laws of nature are objective. You may fully believe if you jump from a 100 story building you will float like a feather to the ground. But if you jump, gravity is going to work and you are going to make a rapid descent to the ground. You might think men can have babies or can menstruate. They cannot, regardless of the sincerity of your belief to the contrary. Why? There are objective facts that cannot be overcome.
Our legal system is subjective. Just as at one time it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry, with the passage of new laws or removal of old ones, what was considered a crime can change. You may agree with it. You may disagree with it. But in our system a crime is what the law says it is. For some of you, natural law is your measure and oddly you expect all to simply follow it because you declare it is the standard that should be used for the reasons you believe it to be so. You are no different than any others. You simply hold firmly that your standard is the proven "right" standard that all should be held to while criticizing others for having their standard. And you seem blind to that fact. But crime, what is legal and illegal, and how to deal with those things are all parts of a dynamic and subjective system that can and does change over time.
