Not really that is just a calling card to energize people to vote. Remember the phrase It is the Economy Stupid. For an extreme amount of people personal things are more important. Actually Christianity was the driving reason for the elimination of slavery. Started within the Catholic Church. It took a while but the Church of England then the Methodist Church continued the fight and Slavery was eliminated in the British Territories. Eventually the States. There was a very strong anti slavery feeling among theGerman Swiss Ana_Baptist through out the Western part of Virginia.
