If MU dropped off due to inferior coaching compared to what Mike Anderson was doing how did MU go from a 23 win team that lost 5 of its last 6 games in 2010-11, return the same team with no additions but minus Justin Safford and Lawrence Bowers in 2011-12, and win 30 games? The only change was coaching staff and results.

I don't think anyone following MU at the time Mike was coaching us would say 'that is a very well coached team'. Our coaching staff the next season was recognized with NCOY.

MU was more talented in 2012-13 than in 2011-12, and certainly deeper. I guess one could make the case that it was unfortunate that Bowers got injured during the 2012-13 season, but he sat out the entire 2011-12 season due to injury as well.
