programs a member. Hence the original point that nobody should be saying 'we shoulda stayed in the Big 12', least we be associated with non-like and lesser universities.

Being a conference of midmajor or garbage schools isn't preventative of having a good basketball program. But I still wouldn't want MU directly associated with a garbage school that had a good basketball program.
