Went 67-3 as head coach at Sioux Falls and won 3 NAIA Championships and made it to NAIA semifinal or Championship every year.
As the offensive coordinator for Southern Illinois he was 22-23 from 2010-2013
As OC for Eastern Michigan they were 10-27 from 2014-16
From 2017-2018 at Fresno St as OC, they went 22-6
In 2019 he was OC at Indiana and went 8-5. The Hoosiers averaged 443.6 yards per game under DeBoer, ranking second in the Big Ten for the season
2020 he returned to Fresno State this time as Head Coach. He went 3-3 in his first covid year at Fresno State, but then 9-3 in 2021.
2022 at Washington, he went 11-2 and is currently 2-0 this year.
Kirby Moore was his WR coach in 2017 and passing game coordinator in 2020-2021 before Kalen left for Washington
Kalen is a 3x NAIA Coach of the Year. Pac-12 Coach of the Year
He is 48 years old.
As a HC he is 92-11 overall.
