retards that don't understand football beyond a surface level. If you're upset about what has transpired with the QB situation, there are a lot of people to blame and Drink isn't one of them.
Cook did pretty much everything he could have done last night from an execution standpoint. He scored a TD on the only designed QB run that was called. He threw with much improved velocity on the couple of vertical throws he made (bender to Miller, hole shot to Burden). No, all of the throws weren't perfect but he threw catchable balls, as evidenced by his stat line.
"But he didn't throw the ball vertically enough!!!!!"
Um, well USD played to limit explosive plays and make the offense execute 10+ play drives to score. That's exactly what you do when you're outgunned. Force the offense to play pitch and catch in the short/intermediate game and hope for misses/penalties/drops. The vertical opportunities were limited based on coverage. You just don't throw the ball vertically just to do it. There will be times when defenses play press man or tight quarters and force Cook to beat them down the field. We'll see if he's good enough to do it.
"Horn got screwed!!!!!"
The plan was to play him the entire second half and at least the third quarter with starters. The plan was sound, but sometimes **** just goes haywire in football. The defense ****ed around on the first drive coming out and allowed USD to eat up 9 minutes of the clock, converting multiple third and fourth downs. That killed probably at least five opportunities to throw the ball. Horn had a nice throw over the middle but his lack of touch and ****ty placement led to an INT and a short field for the defense. After that, the goal became just to shorten and win the game. Horn didn't get the opportunities to throw the ball because of himself and the defense, not Drink. He also missed at least two pull opportunities that should have generated solid runs for him.
Be happy Brady played well and we got out of the game injury free.
