Randi W. and the NEA represent a very small percentage of teachers. The national school board association represent a very small number of school districts. What they both do represent are very large districts and very vocal union members.
I would estimate that 95% of teachers and probably similar percentages of school board members want nothing but to help educate children so they they are as ready as possible to be happy, productive adults.
But as always the loudest and craziest get the majority of the attention.
