Maybe because there is a history of hate that has been directed towards those people.

I have known of kids that were kicked out of their home when they came out. The beginning of pride was about Stonewall and police targeting them.

Does that deserve extra attention,.,to me no. But on the list that I care about, this is low. I have a gay brother who is now married. That means something to him. Personally I think government should be out f the marriage business, and there is no need for government to recognize that two people love each other and are committed.

We need so much more MYOB attitude in this country and individualism for sure
