You obviously don't understand how these things work.

It WAS documented by multiple, credible sources that Mizzou and the Big talked.

Those talks could have gone like this. Big "hey, Mizzou, we love that you're an AAU member. Would you be interested in joining us? We're so excited to have you that we'll give you half what everyone else is getting for your first 5 years."

Our response "Respectfully, go f*** yourselves."

The Big would never give details about us turning them down because they would look bad.

We would never give details about turning them down because that's the way professionals handle these things.

Neither side is going to give any details about the discussions so your hang up about nobody "credible" telling us anything is, honestly, bizarre.

I deal in contract negotiations regularly in my job. Nobody discusses details with anyone who is not a party to the negotiations.

It's how adults do business.
