Be better off if they basically merged into a 20 team conference.

Washington and Washington st
California and Stanford
UCLA and USC
Arizona and Arizona St
Utah and Colorado
Missouri and kansass
Oklahoma and Texas
Texas A&M and Iowa St
Pick 2 others

Basically control the western half of the United States.

Now, the big 12 looks like it will continue to exist in a devalued, extremely spread out league in the Pac 12 might become some thing like the Pacific coast conference
