who seriously discuss the prospect of leaving a P2 conference for one full of leftover scraps?
Let's assume Oregon & Washington leave the PAC, and the "corner schools" have no other choice but to join the Big 12.
You know what's gonna happen eventually?...
The Big Ten and SEC are gonna keep expanding. And one day, Arizona and/or Colorado and/or Utah and/or Arizona State are gonna get an invite to join one of those conferences.
They'll be joining the Big 12 with one foot out the door, hoping to leave behind the likes of Central Florida, Cincinnati, Brigham Young, Texas Christian, West Virginia, Iowa State, Kansas, and all the other scrubs that neither of the P2 conferences wanted.
We should be thanking our lucky stars that we're in a situation with long-term stability and relevance. Eventually, there will be reforms that help to level the playing field for P2 members like Mizzou (and Iowa, and Illinois, and Arkansas)... but the revenue gap will be too wide for non-P2 schools to compete in 5 or 10 years.
You old-timers who still yearn for the Big 8 need to move the f*** on.
