And I’m not necessarily saying they should have gone to the valley at that time, that argument could be made, but it’s a different argument Then the one about how things stand today.
As I noted in another post, their very first year in the Atlantic 10, they ended up in a conference with half as many bids as their old conference the season before.
There are infinite layers to the discussion if we try to go back and incorporate the logic of their decisions in the past. All of the conferences have changed significantly since then and so there’s no reasonable way to correlate then and now. I am simply looking at it from a perspective of the last few years and how things stand today. Slu would be better off to leave the Atlantic 10 and join the Missouri Valley. And I know there is absolutely zero chance they would remotely consider that option.
