home wins, I was at the Alabama game in Birmingham in '75 and the USC game at the Coliseum the following year. Nothing like going into the lions' den and slaying the beasts when nobody gave you an ice cube's chance in hell of doing so. The USC game was especially memorable, since the star of that game was my fellow St. Charles High School alum Curtis Brown, who had three TDs in the game and a fourth called back on a hold. He COMPLETELY outperformed Heisman Trophy candidate Ricky Bell of USC in that game.
A sidenote: As we were celebrating amongst all the USC fans, one Trojan co-ed turned to us and said, "Why don't you hicks go home", to which I replied, "We will, after we finish kicking your ass." I've hated USC ever since and hope they NEVER return to their past glory.
