every society have some sort of restrictions on their citizenry. I'd say America has come close in the past.

America imo has and is becoming less free with the handling of the so-called covid pandemic for example.

As far as a detailed response I really have none to give as it's my perception of a certain time period...I always looked at life through lens my parents provided such as don't take handouts, work harder than the guy next to you, always treat people with respect (sometimes I fail at this to my shame). I believe in free enterprise and private ownership.

If you can inform me of a true free society throughout history I'd appreciate it.
