I read the decision when it came out, it's important for me to know what I'm arguing about and base my opinions in reality. I get why our wonderful conservatives voted the way they do. I'm a federalist before anything. I support the decision as much as possible.
The people didn't get a chance to decide, there's no tradition behind the legalization.
The people should get to decide, and now they will. I just think the conception people and the late term people are in the minority and the majority will support a ban after a date that falls within 12-16 weeks, because that's what reasonable people would decide. Just like they did with the quickening beforehand, which happens, by your own statements, after the timeframe I think is okay.
I'm just willing to accept I'm reasonable, and 20 weeks, which seems a little ****y to me, is late.
Dobbs is the supreme court kicking it back to the people, and the politicians will sit here and ban all abortion or keep it legal until the head pops out on some political **** when everyone with a brain and a heart knows that 10-20 weeks is where it should be. Preferably toward the lower end of that range.
