I don’t think MU covered it’s scholarship needs because of low TSF giving. If my memory serves me correctly, they had to take a $5 million loan from the University. So diverting donor money for scholarships to NIL means the money has to come from somewhere. I guess students could be assesses a sports fee. That will go over well in this economy. I would cut men’s baseball which would help get closer to balancing the budget. Wrestling could be in trouble. Or maybe not. Any men’s sport that can fund itself is probably safe. I’be never heard any sport at MU is self sustaining per se.
