Signed with MU out of Mount Zion, left before playing any games. Went to Fresno State, played 6 games for them but left after leading the team with 14.9 ppg. Then went to Barton County (Kan.) Community College. Next resurfaced at Jacksonville University. Played in 24 games for JU in 2001-02 after becoming eligible six games into the season. Then he declared for the 2002 NBA draft and left college, bypassing his senior year.
Here is an interview he gave as a high schooler prior to MU signing him:

And then there is Travis Robinson of Gastonia, N.C., who is considered to be one of the top juniors in the country by most college recruiting analysts. He also is in his first year at Mount Zion, having left behind a life in which he said he was "dealing drugs big-time."
"Back home I was rebellious," he said. "When I was dealing drugs, it was all about me. Now I'm saved and I put God first. . . . When I go home now, my friends say I turned on them because I came here. I tell them I'm trying to make it to the {NBA}, so I can get my family out of here. . . . I don't mind the discipline here because this is about becoming a man."
