the worst Tiger season in most of our lifetimes. I can't believe you are trying to spin it into an improvement.

We lost at home to North Carolina Central, Eastern Illinois, and Lipscomb that year then went 2-16 in SEC play. The roster was comically inept, our second best player was Terrence Phillips. Our incoming recruiting class consisted only of CJ Roberts, who promptly didn't qualify and had to go JUCO. We lost 24 total games with a noncon SOS above 300th.

This season sucks, it is a failure by any measure. But it doesn't approach how bad the 2016-17 season was. Cuonzo is clearly a below avg D1 coach, Kim was the worst D1 coach of all time.
