And it they go as expected you fire CM mid season. If you know your new coach, you use this time to negotiate the new deal. Let's say it is Marshall.

In which case he comes in mid season. Allows current players the opportunity to see if they want to play for him or transfer. Coach can also use the time to access which players stay long-term. Also allows recruits to see the future
