running short of ICU beds. I looked on the Kansas State website which reported beds on both sides of the state line. It showed 186 ICU beds in use but for some reason had quit reporting the total number of beds. I remembered seeing the same report last winter that had that info. I was able to find the January report that said 192 beds were in use but also showed over 600 ICU beds in the metro area.
So how does 1/3 of the total beds in use cause a crisis? Or are there somehow fewer ICU beds in the metro now than there were eight months ago.

This had nothing to do with ICU beds, those reports clearly show that. I wonder why they quit reporting the total number of beds?
