MU could theoretically get lucky, but we won't

I wish it wasn't so, but I am pretty certain our window of opportunity to recover is closed. MU effectively gave up on men's basketball at the same time that our competitors got serious and invested resources in it. Heading into the SEC we could at worst reasonably expect to be top 4 each year, and instead we are entirely irrelevant. Too much apathy and too many factors now working against it.

In the unlikely event that we 'get lucky' like you claim, it would be akin to building a program over from scratch. Whatever MU basketball was up to that point would be irrelevant and that would be a new thing.
